Carousel and museum in Albany

Albany Historic Carousel & Museum

The Albany Historic Carousel & Museum describes itself as a nonprofit and asks visitors to support it. Its site says it has had over 150,000 volunteer hours and more than 117,000 visitors a year, and it shows a gallery of the carousel's named animals. The site's hours and directions are on its own page, so check there before you visit.

Albany Regional Museum

The Albany Regional Museum is at 136 Lyon Street SW. Its stated mission is "to preserve, exhibit, and encourage knowledge of the history and culture of the Albany, Oregon area." Exhibits follow Albany's development from its founding in the early 1850s. Its site lists hours of Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, and says the museum is re-opening on Thursday, October 1, 2026. The Albany Visitors Association says the museum hosts a History Through Headstones cemetery tour in spring or summer. The site does not state the museum's tax status.
